The History of Shoop's Texas Termite & Pest Control
The company began as Texas Termite and was founded by F.E. "Forrest Edward" Shoop Sr.. The small town company was first established in the back of a humble house on Filmore Street in Wichita Falls, in the year of 1932. The business consisted of F.E. Shoop, two cousins, and one technician. The fleet included Mr. Shoop's personal vehicle and just one other. The economy (needless to say) was very impoverished, due to the stock market crash in 1929, which set off the Great Depression throughout the 1930's. This did not deter Mr. Shoop. Many home owners, in the 1930's, realized that they had an enemy that was destroying their most valuable asset, their home. The enemy's name was Subterranean Termites. To make matters worse, almost every house was built on a pier and beam structure which gave the termite's direct access to the structures of Wichita Falls.
Currently Shoop's is the leading termite and pest control company in Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas. David Shoop is the current president of the company and his sons David & Dylan Shoop are extremely dedicated to the success of the business. Dylan Shoop has brought an additional service to the growing company; he is the current owner and manager of Shoop's Home Inspections. David Jr. has branched out into the e-commerce area and is running the online stores here and on ebay.
Shoop's Texas Termite & Pest Control has been voted "The Best Pest Control Company" seven years in a row by Times Record News. They have received an array of awards and certificates from non-profit and community organizations for donation of services, funds, and outstanding company performance. For example Shoop's has contributed many services to Habitat for Humanity. The current average for employees at Shoop's is a staggering 17.6 years of service. Each employee is either licensed or certified depending on their area of profession. Shoop's staff is able to offer solutions for the most complex issues, which can only be obtained by years of experience.
The company recently celebrated its 75th year in business. The Shoop family would like to thank the citizens and community of Wichita Falls, Texas and the surrounding areas for making this possible.
In the year 1978 David Shoop took control of the well established company that was still known as Texas Termite. However anytime someone referred to the business they would say "Mr. Shoop's Company or The Shoop's Termite Business", so it wasn't long before the named changed to Shoop's Texas Termite & Pest Control. The business, though well established was still a humble company consisting of three trucks among the fleet. During the 1980's as the population of Wichita Falls increased dramatically so did the business and the services that it provided. Shoop's branched out into Hydro-Mulching, Lawn Care, House Leveling and Commercial Pre-treatment services throughout North West Texas, all the while keeping the high standards and customer first values that the business was known for over the decades.

Mr. Shoop was a man of morals and had passion for his community, so he decided to offer anyone who desired, a complete termite inspection absolutely free, which is still offered today. By doing this he discovered that 90% of the structures he inspected had termites. Often Mr. Shoop was confronted with a family that just could not afford the treatments, however he never turned away a customer in need. He would trade services or goods, he allowed customers to pay at their own pace, as well as doing many applications at no charge.
In this way Mr. Shoop created a business known for its high family values and its dedication to the community. The main source of advertisement was word of mouth. When a home or business had a need for pest control services, the name on everyone's lips was Mr. Shoop. In this way he created a legacy for the future generations to come. It wasn't long before his son F.E. Shoop Jr. was the owner, and years later F.E.'s son David R. Shoop Sr. took control of the company.

David Shoop Jr as a child worked alongside his father David Sr.. Learning the trade over the years David Jr has become very knowledge and skilled in the industry. He now is the administrator over many departments including Marketing & Sales, ECommerce & Website Manager, Research & Development, Distribution, Accounts Receivable, Plant Disease Diagnostics, Insect Identification, and more.

Rhonda joined the company in 1990, after attending Cisco Junior College and Midwestern State University. Over the years she has revolutionized the company's inner workings, taking the business to new heights. She currently heads up marketing, plans & bid proposals, human resources, public relations, accounts payable, manages the storefront, and is the company's finiancial administrator. Shoop's is delighted and honored to have such a hard working dedicated individual on the team. Rhonda is not only one of the company's "Most Valued & Appreciated Employees" she is considered family.
